Experience Giri Carik, located in the scenic village of Tabola, Sidemen. This is situated in a beautiful spot with a sweeping view of a valley of rice fields and vegetable growing from the room and front patio.
We had a delightful experience engaging with local village and farming people and were easily able to get to know local villagers who like to say hello and chat; they are open towards visitors and like to practice English if they speak it. Or you can practice your Bahasa Indonesian.
You will hear the sounds of rural Bali; the residential gecko, the 300 ducks over the road, the regular hollering of rice farmers to the birds (or mice)to stop them eating all their rice (the price for rice is good at the moment); cows mooing in their huts awaiting their next feed of hand fed grass. The farmers you see in the fields every day all live alongside each other in the village of Tabola. They of course know each other. At harvest time the whole extended family comes to help get the rice gathered, thrashed, dried and packed. We watched this from the verandah of our room.
Two stand-alone guest rooms looking out over the valley of rice fields circled by villages and Mount Agung.
Queen size bed, hot shower, western toilet in private bathroom; we also have laundry service with reasonable price. Quiet and clean, Balinese style rooms, owned and managed by friendly local Balinese family. Small restaurant with Indonesian food, other restaurants close by.
