Menjangan Island

Menjangan Island - Surrounded by Coral Reef Walls
This site is so special it is a marine national park and on the list to become a world heritage site. The island is surrounded by a coral reef wall that begins at the surface and goes down to 50 meters (165 feet), making it a perfect place for snorkelers as well as all kinds of divers. The waters here are a marine wonderland with visibility around 20-60 meters (65-200 feet), and an abundance of underwater life and activities.

The walls have caves, crevasses and spires and are covered with huge gorgonian fans and barrel sponges. Schooling banner fish, butterfly fish, groupers, frog fish, trigger fish, jack fish, sweetlips, midnight snappers, together with the occasional timid white tip and the black tip reef sharks make for an exciting and safe diving experience. We have even spotted on numerous occasions manta rays and whale sharks. Exploring this vast diving island would take quite some time so we recommend at least two days of diving

Padang Bay

Padang Bai, located about one hour and a half from Kuta, has dive sites for the novice to the more experienced diver. The Blue Lagoon is ideal for all divers. Starting from 2 to 18 meters, the clear calm water has tons of fish, plant, and marine life associated with tropical warm water diving.
Mimpang and Tepekong islands are for the more experienced diver due to the strong currents. But those who qualify are rarely disappointed. Mimpang is probably the most reliable dive site in Bali to see sharks. Tepekong is know for having big fish and amazing canyons. Again these sites are only for more experienced divers.
